Dizziness and Vertigo
Dizziness and Vertigo can be caused by a wide variety of factors such as an inner disturbance, anemia, low blood sugar and a concussion or head injury. Dizziness and Vertigo are often characterized by a loss of balance, light headedness and in severe cases spinning.
Chinese medicine typically sees dizziness and Vertigo as an imbalance of Yin and Yang energies, and Liver Yang rising and or Kidney and Liver Yin deficiency are common diagnostic patterns used to treat dizziness and Vertigo with acupuncture. The Kidney and Liver Yin deficient type tends to be more mild, with lightheadedness and a loss of balance. The Liver Yang rising type tends to be more severe with spinning sensations and more difficulty walking. By subduing excess Yang energy and restoring weakened Yin, acupuncture can successfully restore balance and treat many types of Dizziness and Vertigo.
